Introduction
Concor Construction invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of a Site Clerk to join our project based in the Western Cape.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for wage administration on-site. These responsibilities include: maintaining employee records, compiling payroll information, including the capturing of wage deductions, and preparing for payroll processing.
Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates based in the Western Cape. This position will be on a Limited Duration Contract (“LDC”) basis for the duration of the project.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Ensure all payroll inputs are captured correctly and timeously.
- Responsible for the coordination between payroll and human resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
- Maintain required policies and procedures relevant to payroll and administration
- Ensure filing of all payroll documentation is filed correctly and is up to date.
- Complete administration for new and terminated employees as and when required
- General Administration relating to Wages processing and payroll requirements
- Attend to all wage payroll-related queries
- Distribute pay slips to employees
· Assists with other payroll and clerical duties as required.
· Adhere to agreed policies, processes, standards, procedures, protocols, and documentation at all times
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, HR, or a related field would be advantageous
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a wages or payroll clerk within the construction or engineering industry
- Must be a South African Citizen
Knowledge and Skills
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements
- Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail is essential
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Time management, planning, and organising skills
- Ability to work under pressure
