Introduction
Concor Construction is looking to employ a suitable, qualified, and experienced candidate as a Construction Manager. The vacancy is in Lusikisiki, Msikaba Bridge Project. The position has stringent requirements, deliverables, and deadlines. Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates. This position will be on a Limited Duration Contract (“LDC”) basis for the duration of the project. To manage and oversee all site construction and pre-commissioning activities for assigned projects, ensuring that work is executed in strict accordance with approved designs, drawings, and quality plans. The role is responsible for delivering projects that meet client expectations, comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, and align with specific project objectives.
Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring standard procedures are adhered to while accommodating specific client requirements
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Monitoring productivity and project costs to ensure efficiency
  • Ensuring the quality of work and materials complies with specifications
  • Delivering projects within required time frames
  • Inspiring team members to achieve high levels of production
  • Building positive relations with employees and relevant stakeholders
  • Cooperating effectively with peers and subordinates
  • Maintaining professional conduct at all times
  • Providing constructive support to company initiatives
  • Reviewing work regularly and implementing corrective actions when necessary

Minimum requirements

Qualifications

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering 
  • Registered as a Professional Construction Manager with SACPCMP

Experience

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Construction Manager with SACPCMP
Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant industry experience
  • Extensive knowledge and proven expertise in Construction Management
  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven commercial awareness and sound decision-making capability
  • In-depth working knowledge of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations
  • Ability to read, interpret, and organize construction plans and specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and production management expertise
