Introduction
Concor Construction invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Group Financial Manager. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Group Finance Executive.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates, including disabled applicants. This position is based at the Concor Head Office, Bedfordview.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts, identifying trends and recommending course action to improve financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and oversee internal controls.
- Manage cash flow, including forecasting and management of working capital.
- Provide guidance and support to department heads in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and other financial institutions
- Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance, including the preparation of tax returns and liaison with tax authorities
- Support the development and implementation of technology to improve financial reporting and analysis.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Managing a financial audit, including preparation for the audit, liaising with the auditors, and producing reports and recommendations following the audit.
- Negotiating contractual terms with suppliers and clients.
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial presentation and management accounts for Executive Board meetings.
- Liaise with auditors in terms of monitoring controls at the Group level as well as ensuring that the scope adequately addresses the needs of the business.
- Preparation of Interim and Year-End Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS and IAS, including managing the finalization of the Group's integrated annual report.
- Managing the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management, and accounting.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (i.e, procurement, petty cash, etc).
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- B.Com Accounting Degree
- Qualified CA (SA) registered with SAICA
- A postgraduate qualification in Tax would be preferable
Experience
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in financial management in the Construction/Engineering industry
- Extensive experience in tax and relevant statutory tax legislation
- Proficient in JDE and Hyperion
- Experience in consolidations, drafting of annual financial statements and completion of tax calculations and tax returns
- Demonstrate proficiency in group reporting, financial analysis, financial modelling, and reporting.
- Detailed IFRS knowledge
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word & Outlook)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with the stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Strong ability to prioritize and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
