Introduction
Concor Construction invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of a QA/QC Inspector.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for the management, coordination, and implementation of the quality management system for the Plant Department.
Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates. This position is available for a Plant in Amalgam and will be on a Permanent Contract basis.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Implement, maintain, and improve the Quality management system in line with ISO 9001 requirements
- Ensure all quality procedures, policies, and work instructions are current, controlled, and communicated.
- Internal auditing of the Workshop QMS in terms of ISO 9001.
- Conducting quality evaluations of Workshops & suppliers.
- Compile and submit quality reports to management.
- Maintain document control for quality records, inspection reports, and audit documentation.
- Support tender submissions with all quality-related documentation required.
- Provide quality support to mechanics, supervisors, and the workshop team.
- Conduct quality awareness training for workshop staff.
- Management of the Plant NCR system, communicating related failures and remedial actions or learnings.
- Support management during QMS reviews and continue improvement initiatives.
- Perform any other reasonable duties related to quality management as required.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (N.Dip/B.Tech) or a related technical discipline.
- Internal auditing ISO 9001 Certificate.
- Valid driver’s license
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ Plant and Equipment QA/QC experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Plant hire and Construction Industry knowledge
- Sound understanding of Quality management systems.
- Inspection and Audit knowledge.
- Analytical & methodical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal/Written), including preparing/compiling detailed technical reports.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Tools.
