Job description
- Provide support to company and site initiatives.
· Monitors, inspects and ensures workmanship and practices of contractors and/or crews engaged in construction are in accordance with required standards
· Required to inspect and sign-off all critical items of work ONLY after the inspection has been done and signed off by the Foreman/Engineer
· Drawing on experience and on site problem solving, provide technical inputs to address future maintenance / functionality issues
· Where approval samples are available, compare work carried out against samples to ensure consistency.
· Inspects and verifies that critical materials delivered to the construction site comply with contractual requirements. All concrete pours, closing of cavities, waterproofing (roofs, windows, asills) etc, will be inspected, photographed and signed-off
· Conducts on-going site inspections to ensure adherence to all building codes, plans and specifications, takes actions as necessary.
· Make regular visits and inspections to the site, attending site meetings and advising on difficulties being encountered or likely to be encountered.
Project Management Support:
· * Prepares and submits report on any deviations in workmanship together with appropriate recommendations.
· * Vetting subcontractor teams (e.g. Wet Trade workers)
· * Participate in site project meetings
Minimum requirements
- Tertiary Qualification in Building or related technical discipline
- Trade Apprenticeship
- A minimum of 10 years' construction supervision experience (Building)
- Experience in inspecting and signing off of all CRITICAL items of work (Requirement)
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as an Engineer Clerk of Work
- Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing large constructin projects
- Working knowledge of Building Codes
- Basic Microsoft Office Literacy
