Introduction
Concor Mining Services invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Plant Agent. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Plant Manager on the Mogalakwena in Mokopane, Limpopo.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Maintain a reliable TMM fleet at least 85% availability.
- Ensure all plant and workshops are maintained according to acceptable engineering, OEM, and mine standards.
- Prepare site workshop income and expenditure budgets.
- Manage the monthly workshop budget within defined limits
- Planning the layout of the proposed area required.
- Planning of your Plant and manpower requirements as well as Plant HR function
- Ensure the offices and ablution facilities are established
- Manage the erection of the site workshop
- Planning and controlling workshop tools and equipment
- Manage the establishment of main stores, oil stores, tyre stores, and wash bays.
- Ensure all environmental issues are addressed.
- Manage the installation of the water system and electrification.
- Ensure three-way communication is maintained between the Site and Head Office.
- Ensure the Security and Signage are adequate.
- Manage the logistics of the plant and employees coming onsite.
- Ensure all plants and equipment are used for the purpose for which they were intended.
- Respond to the plant resource needs of the sites under your area of responsibility.
- Plan the resource utilisation of all plants in conjunction with the Site Managers and Plant manager.
- Use the Plant Hire Terms and Conditions to ensure that all Plant is hired out correctly, and deviations need to be approved by the Managing Director.
- Regularly visit all sites/projects under your area of responsibility in order to ascertain the Plant's performance and to address any site-related matters/issues.
- Communicate and relay information to the site, in terms of, new policies, procedures, Safe Work procedures, Safety requirements, etc.
- Perform monthly inspections of the workshop.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications:
- NQF 4 and Trade Test
- National Diploma: Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)
Experience:
- Ability to lead a maintenance team
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a Foreman or Technical Analyst
- Technical, specialist, or analytical skills acquired through experience
