Introduction
Concor Construction invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Finance Manager - Plant. This position has dual reporting to the Group Finance Executive and Plant Executive. The successful incumbent must have solid finance experience within the Infrastructure and Mining Plant industry. He/she will be responsible for asset management, providing accurate financial information in order to make critical business decisions, monitoring the plant finance strategy and its implementation within budget and contractual agreements and updating the financial model annually and to manage a team within the Finance Department. Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates. This position is based at the Concor Mining Services Head Office at Amalgam in Johannesburg but will be required to travel to sites frequently.
Job description

Successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):
• Play an integral role on the Management Team and together drive the operational performance and achieve operational targets 
• Deliver on all financial deliverables and reporting requirements the associated deadlines are met 
• Play an integral part in the operational performance of the Platform by providing a complete and fully functional financial service to all stakeholders 
• Lead and manage the financial team through hands-on management and applying industry best practices
• Initiate, develop, implement, streamline and maintain the necessary Financial strategies, policies and procedures within the company to effectively manage finances overall 
• Keep the Site Managers, HOD’s and all budget holders informed and fully aware of all financial related matters that may impact on the business units on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis 
• Ensure financial governance, internal controls and compliance to the Group’s standards and reporting requirements are achieved in the specific timeline 
• Ensure legislative and corporate governance compliance requirements to manage risk 
• Ensure effective asset and cash flow management to ensure attainment of organizational targets 
• Review capital expenditure and forecasts to ensure alignment with business strategy and to optimize return on investment 
• Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence and compliance to Security and company’s SHE objectives 
• Required to work according to the Company and Regulatory Body’s Codes of Ethical Conduct, and report any observations of this not being done


Minimum requirements

Qualifications
• Any or a combination of the following degrees: BCom, BCompt, BAcc. 
• CA(SA) status would be a distinct advantage. 
• Registered with one (or more) of the following professional accounting industry organisations; 
- The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants 
- The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants 
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants 
- South African Institute of Professional Accountants 
- Institute of Administration and Commerce 
- Institute of Certified Bookkeepers 

Experience

• A minimum of 10 Years practical work experience in the field of accounting 
• A minimum of 5 Years’ experience supervising a team
• Extensive experience in tax and relevant statutory tax legislation
• Proficient on ERP system (e.g. JD Edwards/ Hyperion)
• Experience in asset management, budgets, drafting of annual financial statements and completion of tax calculations and tax returns

Knowledge and Skills
• Demonstrate proficiency in group reporting, financial analysis, financial modelling and reporting.
• Detailed understanding of the specific applicable International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) 
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, & Outlook)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial/asset management practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with the stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Strong ability to prioritize and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Attention to detail
