Introduction
Concor invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Maintenance Planner. The successful incumbent will report to the Company’s Technical Engineer / Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing the planning of the mining plant and equipment’s maintenance, services and repairs in order to spot and improve the sites production targets. Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates including disabled applicants. This position is based at the Concor Mining Services Site in Mokopane, Limpopo and will be on a permanent basis.
Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following for the entire Platform:
·       Interpret production requirements to develop a plant and equipment plan to ensure the effective utilisation of resources and the attainment of production targets.
·       Responsible to do trade-off studies, assist with equipment selection and other trials as required.
·       Responsible to obtain and manage applicable resources needed.
·       Control and co-ordinate all activities to achieve optimum production throughput, process efficiency, product security and information integrity with regards to plant and equipment planning
·       Responsible to track the delivery of projects within agreed timelines, budget and quality.
·       Responsible to respond to risks in area of responsibility.
·       Monthly and daily breakdown of production and development plans provided from Platform long term planning. (Shift roster and production calendar)
·       Prepare and track progress of monthly plan vs actual with Operational Technical Services Managers, Platform Mine Planning and Platform Draw Control and forecast revision of plan.
·       Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation, Audit: Ensure that all Technical Services - Planning reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.
·       Ensure compliance to best practices and mining technical standards and take corrective action when required
·       Evaluate processes or systems or products or new developments to identify opportunities and deficiencies to ensure continuous improvement.
·       Collect and keep record of production information, draft reports and presentations as required. (And Present)
·       Responsible for document control for the planning department/section.
·       Engagement & Communication: Establish & maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the Technical Services/Planning Function.
·       Responsible to ensure that all people in the section are trained and up-skilled.
 

Minimum requirements

Qualifications
·       Matric (with Maths Science) / Technical N3
·       Minimum National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NQF Level 6)
·       Certificate/qualification in Project Management or Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Advantageous
 
Experience
·       A minimum 7 years plant supervisory experience within the open cast mining and/or underground industries, and ideally with exposure to projects in these industries.
·       A minimum of 5 years using computerized planned maintenance systems
