Introduction
Concor Construction invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Surveyor.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for conducting surveys, measurements, and layouts for building and construction projects. This role ensures that construction works are accurately aligned with design plans, legal boundaries, and regulatory requirements. The Surveyor will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and site teams to support safe and precise project execution.
Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates and to candidates who are currently based in Johannesburg. This position is available for the 211 Oxford Parks project in Rosebank and will be on a Limited Duration Contract basis for the duration of the project.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Conduct site surveys, including topographical, boundary, and building layout surveys.
- Assist in setting out foundations, walls, and other construction elements according to design specifications.
- Prepare and maintain accurate survey records, maps, and reports.
- Operate survey equipment such as total stations, GPS, levels, and laser instruments.
- Verify and monitor construction work to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Support quality control and ensure measurements meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients regarding survey results.
- Maintain and calibrate survey instruments and tools.
- Assist in land acquisition, site preparation, and documentation as required.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5 years’ Experience in building construction survey work is an advantage.
- Knowledge of surveying principles, building codes, and construction practices.
- Proficiency with survey software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, or similar).

- Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical fitness for fieldwork and site inspections.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
