Concor Mining Services invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Plant Agent at Mogalakwena. This is an opportunity for an experienced plant and maintenance leader to take accountability for safe, reliable and cost-effective plant operations in a mining environment.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will manage site plant, equipment, workshops, maintenance planning, logistics, stores and supporting infrastructure to ensure operational availability, compliance and project delivery.

Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Managing the site plant function to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of all plant, equipment, workshops and related infrastructure.
- Maintaining Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) fleet availability of at least 85% through effective maintenance planning, breakdown control, inspections and compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), engineering and mine standards.
- Preparing and managing workshop budgets, controlling costs and ensuring effective use of tools, equipment, parts stores, oil stores, tyre stores and wash bays.
- Planning site plant layouts, manpower requirements, workshop establishment, offices, ablutions, water systems, electrification, security and signage.
- Coordinating plant logistics, employee mobilisation, resource utilisation and plant hire processes in consultation with Site Managers and the Plant Manager.
- Ensuring all plant and equipment are used for their intended purpose and that environmental, safety and operational requirements are addressed.
- Maintaining effective communication between site, Head Office and project teams on policies, safe work procedures, safety requirements and plant performance.
- Conducting regular site visits and monthly workshop inspections to monitor performance, resolve issues and support operational delivery.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Trade Test (Diesel Mechanic, Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic, or related trade)
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' working experience in Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) maintenance and supervision.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a 2.9.2 or 2.6.1 legal appointee.
- Experience leading a workshop or maintenance team in a mining environment.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance systems.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (MS Office).
- Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
- Must have a valid driver's licence
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) maintenance, availability improvement, breakdown management and preventive maintenance systems.
- Sound understanding of Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) requirements, legal appointments, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards, engineering controls and mine safety procedures.
- Ability to lead workshop teams, allocate resources, manage performance and build accountability in a high-pressure site environment.
- Skilled in planning plant utilisation, manpower requirements, maintenance schedules, shutdowns and site support activities.
- Strong cost awareness, including budget preparation, cost control, parts management and supplier coordination.
- Practical knowledge of stores, tools, tyres, oils, wash bays, workshop infrastructure, water systems and electrification requirements.
- Good problem-solving, decision-making, report writing and communication skills, with the ability to liaise between site teams and Head Office.
- Computer literacy, attention to detail and the ability to work safely, independently and within project deadlines.
