Introduction
Concor Construction invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Surveyor.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for delivering accurate surveying, setting out, and measurement support across building and construction projects. The role is critical to ensure that all works are executed in line with approved drawings, legal boundaries, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Surveyor will work closely with site management, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to support safe, efficient, and precise project delivery.
Job description
The successful candidate we will be responsible but not limited to:
- Conduct site surveys, setting out, and as-built measurements for building and construction works.
- Set out foundations, columns, walls, slabs, and other structural elements in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Prepare, maintain, and update accurate survey data, site records, reports, and as-built information.
- Operate and care for survey equipment including total stations, GPS instruments, levels, and laser tools to ensure reliable outputs.
- Verify construction works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, tolerances, and project quality requirements.
- Identify measurement discrepancies or design deviations early and escalate them to the relevant site and project stakeholders.
- Liaise with engineers, architects, site management, subcontractors, and clients on survey requirements and technical queries.
- Ensure survey instruments are maintained, calibrated, and used in accordance with operational and safety requirements.
- Support site establishment, progress tracking, and project documentation by providing timely and accurate survey information.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- National Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant surveying experience within the building construction environment will be advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of surveying principles, construction methodologies, building regulations, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in the use of modern surveying equipment and relevant software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, or similar applications.
Knowledge and Skills
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary site teams.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to report clearly on site measurements and deviations.
- Physically fit and willing to work on construction sites under varying site conditions.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, site layouts, and technical plans with accuracy.
