The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Ensuring standard procedures are adhered to, and any specific client requirements are considered
• Sets and maintains production targets and operates within prescribed cost budgets.
• Preparing detailed long-term project schedules.
• Fostering relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage material procurement and controls (e.g. trend analysis, forecasts, procurement controls etc.)
• Successfully managing multiple works activities / sections
• Ensuring that quality of work and materials comply with specifications
• Work to be completed within required time frames
• Inspiring team members to achieve high levels of production
• Building good relations with employees and relevant role players
• Manage site teams and identification and allocation of resources in line with project requirements, e.g. staff, plant, sub- contractors.

• Reviewing work and ensuring corrective action when required
• Implementing improvements and demonstrating initiative
• Consistently complying with all company policies and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with Safety, Health & Environmental Regulations

Experience

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience as a civil engineer within the construction industry, especially in the construction of roads and earthworks.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be a South African Citizen
